Very good arc here, all the good supernatural, psychological intrigue, with hardly any of the annoying ecchi aspect. Praise.
Monogatari Series: Second Season
It's worth slogging through Nisemonogatari and Nekomonogatari to get here. Fantastic arcs.
Nisemonogatari
Too much inexcusable uncomfortable fan-service (read borderline illegal) to make the neat dialogue worth it. It is important to the overarching Monogatari story, so if you're embarking on it, muscle through.
Bakemonogatari
A delightfully artsy and philosophical adventure, truly unique.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door)
A great capstone to the series (that chronologically takes place before the series ends). Definitely worth finding and watching.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion
An eerie finish (?) to the Madoka series that keeps the curveballs coming. Inu Curry's unsettling abstract animation is back and Yuki Kajiura's soundtrack is phenomenal, but the story can be tricky to follow.
NOIR
Definitely a product of early 2000s anime. Tries to be deep, dark, philosophical, and does a decent job. Action gets bland, but if you feel like taking on a slow burn mystery that doesn't require too much attention, it's decent. Music is stellar.
.hack//SIGN
While it is perhaps the seminal "trapped in a game" isekai, the pacing of this was so painfully slow. While the soundtrack is a masterpiece by Yuki Kajiura, it's used so awkwardly and repetitively that it doesn't do it justice. Skip this one.
