Demon Slayer is an intense shonen that proves that the genre can stay relevant. With stellar animation, music, and pacing, it lives up to its hype. Most episodes will give you full-body goosebumps, make you cry, or both.
Isekai Izakaya
A cozy food anime that centers on the unique joys and experience that only a small establishment can bring. If you've ever worked in or been a regular customer of a small restaurant, you'll enjoy this.
A Certain Magical Index II
A remarkably dull sequel that progresses slowly with various non-sequitur arcs. When not in a monotonous fight scene, it's the same tired “jokes” of accidentally seeing a girl changing or naked, over and over again.
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
This is the best anime movie from a TV series that I've seen. KyoAni's love for their craft is strongly felt here in a beautiful and emotional piece. All the good of Haruhi improved while trimming all eye-roll moments.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Haruhi has its own fun thing going on. It doesn't "feel" like really any other anime, and that's part of what has made it a mainstay of anime history. That, and a very notorious arc. I really enjoyed this one.
Magical Sempai
A rushed-pace fan-service centered show that’s really missing an ingredient.
Charlotte
Charlotte feels a lot like Angel Beats after the caffeine rush wears off. The lows aren't as low, but the highs aren't as high. Overall a more palatable experience with emotional moments, but still suffers from similar shortcomings.
A Whisker Away
A family-friendly Disney/Ghibli vibe that's fun enough, though definitely has "for kids" goofiness in it, but goes a bit deeper emotionally than typical non-Pixar family movies.
Castlevania (Season 3)
Season 3 of Castlevania is more polished, has better pacing, and a more solid tone and vibe than the first two seasons. While I didn't get stabbed in the cry holes this time around, it's more grounded than the previous installments.
A Certain Scientific Railgun
A Certain Scientific Railgun is a much better counterpart to Magical Index that feels like an intriguing cop show set in an X-Men-like universe. It’s still got a lot of anime pervery sins though.
