Premise: Subaru and friends finally get a moment of peace, and Subaru goes on a certain secret mission that he must not let anyone find out about! However, even though Subaru is wearing a disguise, Petra and other children of the village immediately figure out who he is. Now that his mission was exposed within five seconds of it starting, what will happen with Subaru’s “date course” with Emilia?

TheAwersome’s Thoughts: For an OVA this is surprisingly well done. The comedy level is upped from its usual, channeling a bit more of the Isekai Quartet vibe in that people are more caricature-y than normal, but the pacing is the classic Re:Zero style. Being a bonus episode that takes place near the end of the first cour (between episodes 11 and 12 of main series) there isn’t much in the ways of further plot development (you won’t be lost if you skip it), but that’s not to say there aren’t some big ol’ clues and juiciness that gets dropped.

TLDR: A good, funny time worth watching if you liked Re:Zero. Plus, there’s a Konosuba Easter Egg!
